Rohit Kumar is an Associate Attorney at SSKB who is dedicated to educating and preserving a fair outcome for individuals who have been wrongfully injured. Quadrilingual in four languages, Rohit is a unique asset to the firm and a strong advocate for clients of multiple backgrounds.
Rohit’s understanding of the global implications a personal injury can have on an individual allows him to build valuable relationships with clients from the start. His empathetic nature eases clients who have been through traumatic ordeals, empowering them through education regarding their case and on their rights. Rohit’s ability to speak English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu widens the span of cases he is able to take on, decreasing the communication barriers and resulting in favorable outcomes for his clients.
Harboring the value that all individuals should have equal access to the law, Rohit has volunteered his time and legal expertise on multiple occasions. As a past volunteer for the Court Appointed Special Advocates, Rohit regularly advocated for abused and neglected children to prevent them from getting lost in the overburdened legal and social service system. He also spent time as a volunteer with Volunteers of Legal Service, providing pro bono legal services to individuals who were unfairly denied unemployment benefits.
Rohit’s legal experience is heavily concentrated in the area of personal injury ligation. He has handled a variety of serious accident cases, some including motor vehicle accidents, slip/trip and fall accidents, product liability, and sexual harassment.
Outside of the firm, Rohit participates in the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, New York Sate Bar Association, and Queens County Bar Association. He is an active participant in the South Asian Bar Association, an organization focused on strengthening the South Asian legal profession and promoting the civl rights and access to justice for the South Asian community. Additionally, Rohit worked at the United Nations within the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) for almost a decade before passing the Bar in 2014 to begin his law career.
Rohit graduated with his B.S. in International Finance from the University of Southern California- Marhsall School of Business in 2002. After working as a compliance analyst and regulatory policy analyst, Rohit obtained his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 2014 and joined the winning team at SKKB in December 2018. Rohit is permitted to practice law in the state of New York.
