Associates

John Zervopoulos

Currently the Managing Attorney of the Woodbury, Long Island office, John Zervopoulos has been an attorney with the firm since 2000, and served as an intern while in law school. John personally handles all aspects of his cases, from their inception to resolution.

John serves as a volunteer Arbitrator for Queens County Civil Court and resolves all claims regarding personal injury, negligence, contractual disputes, corporate and commercial liability, consumer transactions, property damage and landlord-tenant disputes. He is an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and Hellenic Lawyers Association of New York. Fluent in Greek, John participates in programs for the Greek community and is actively involved in fundraising activities to award scholarships to students pursuing law careers. He is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, Queens County Bar Association and New York City Trial Lawyers Association.

A cum laude graduate of Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus, John earned his J.D. from Hofstra Law School. He is admitted to the Bar in New York, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Carolyn Caccese

Carolyn Caccese primarily handles medical malpractice cases with an expertise in nursing home incidents, and takes an active role in depositions, court conferences and trial preparation. She serves on the Medical Malpractice Committee of the New York City Bar and is the chair of the subcommittee on Outreach. In addition, Carolyn is an active member of the New York State Bar Association and New York County Lawyers Association, where she is a member of the Young Lawyers Section. She is also a member of New York State Trial Lawyers Association.

Prior to joining the firm, Carolyn worked as a summer intern at the office of Rep. Rick Lazio, U.S. House of Representatives, Washington D.C. She joined SSK&B in 2004 after serving as an intern at the firm during law school.

Carolyn earned her B.A. from Loyola College in Maryland. She is a Dean's list graduate of St. John's Law School, where she served as the Executive Notes and Comments Editor of the St. John's Journal of Legal Commentary. She authored The Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act: Constitutional Implications for the Future, which was published in the fall of 2004.

Carolyn is admitted to the Bar in New York, as well as the Southern and Eastern District federal courts in New York.

Benjamin J. Salk
Associate

Ben joined the firm in 2011 after practicing catastrophic injury litigation in Miami, Florida as an associate with the Biondo Law Firm. While there he was first chair in a traumatic brain injury case that resulted in one of the largest verdicts in a personal injury case in Broward County (Florida). A graduate of the University of Miami School of Law (Honors: Litigation Skills Program) and Emory University, Ben speaks, writes and reads Spanish fluently. He is admitted to the bar in Florida and New York.

Daniel J. Solinsky
Associate

Danny concentrates his practice in motor vehicle accident and premises liability matters. He joined the firm in 2011 after serving as Principal Court Attorney under two Administrative Justices in the Supreme Court, Bronx County.
Prior to working in the court system, Danny was an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County. He served in the prestigious A34 trial bureau, and was charged with prosecuting violent and non-violent felony matters including armed robbery, grand larceny, assault and firearm possession.

As a summer intern at the United States Attorney's Office, Eastern District, Danny was a Judge J. Edward Lumbard Fellow. He earned his B.A. from the University of Connecticut and is a Dean's List graduate of St. John's University School of Law. He is admitted to the Bar in New York.

Of Counsel
Michael Schwartz

Michael Schwartz manages a varied caseload; he handles initial investigations and formulates strategy for all cases. In charge of developing, implementing and updating the firm's technological systems, Michael personally wrote and developed the case management software package that allow the firm to streamline operations and track cases efficiently.

A frequent lecturer, Michael has addressed the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and has authored lecture materials and published articles on trial strategy for presentations to the New York State Bar Association, Practicing Law Institute, Nassau County Bar Association, American Board of Trial Advocates, Louisiana State Trial Association, St. John's Law School and Touro Law School.

As an active member of the Bellmore, Long Island Kiwanis Club, Michael was honored as an Outstanding Kiwanian of the Year and has chaired various community programs that raise money to benefit children. He also volunteered as a member of the technology committee in the Bellmore School District.

Michael graduated from the State University at Albany with a B.S. degree and Brooklyn Law School, where he earned his J.D. degree. He is admitted to the Bar in New York and the United States Federal Courts.
