Jeff Kimmel is a proven, experienced trial attorney and actively manages the firm’s medical malpractice department. He has earned the highest ranking among attorneys by Martindale-Hubbell’s Peer Review Ratings Service and is consistently named to the New York Super Lawyer list, another peer review identifying the top 5% of practicing attorneys in New York State.  Jeff was also selected as one of New York City’s “Ten Leaders” in Civil Trial and Personal Injury Law."  Before joining the firm, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County in the Investigations Bureau. Jeff was also an associate at a medical malpractice defense firm in Manhattan.

A frequent lecturer on trial preparation, trial strategy and courtroom techniques, Jeff speaks to attorneys at Bar Associations as well as to law students. Jeff has also contributed to prestigious publications, including authoring a chapter on trial preparation and strategy for Thomson Reuters' highly respected "Inside the Minds" book series.  The New York Law Journal has also tapped him for his expertise, asking him to contibute as one of its "Smart Litigators" on its online resource for attorneys. 

Jeff has provided expert testimony at a State Senate Hearing proposing new legislation and appeared on The Montel Williams Show as a legal analyst.

Involved with many community service activities, Jeff volunteers as a judge for an annual Moot Court Competition.   He chairs the Committee on Committees for the New York County Lawyers' Association (NYCLA), overseeing more than 50 committees for the organization. He also serves on its Board of Directors. Jeff previously served as Chairman of the NYCLA's Young Lawyers Section and founded its highly successful Mentoring Program.  He is a member of and formerly served on the Medical Malpractice Committe for the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and New York State Bar Association.

Jeff graduated from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. degree and Brooklyn Law School, where he received the school’s coveted American Jurisprudence Awards in Legal Writing and Appellate Advocacy.  Active in Brooklyn Law School’s Moot Court program, he was selected to the National Team.  He is admitted to the Bar in New York, New Jersey, District of Columbia and the United States Federal Courts.
